The act of backbiting ( Gheebah/Gheebat) has been strongly condemned in Islam in both the Quran and the Hadith. There are frightening descriptions of the punishment for backbiting in Islam. Backbiting in Islam is likened to one of the most repulsive acts possible in the Quran. The Prophet (PBUH) said in a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari that whoever Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, former President of the Islamic Society of North America, states the following: “In Islam, marriage can take several steps: 1-Khitbah: This is engagement whereby the man and woman decide to get engaged to marry at their convenient time. During this time, they and their families try to know each other. If a person believes in Allah, cultivates the fear of Allah, lives according to the commandments of Allah, follows the complete sunnah, ponders on the ayahs revealed by Allah, Allah will grant him wisdom which will help him to distinguish betweem right and wrong, take the right decisions, present Islam to non muslims, and spread the deen of Importance of following the Sunnah. The Quran is the last divine book, which was revealed from Allah as a declaration and guidance to mankind. It is an explanation of all things and means for men to be rightly guided. In many verses of the Quran, it is commanded to obey the Prophet of Allah .
